How secure is our data?

Skill Satellite and Skillsat Technical services are constantly reviewing and implementing the most modern standards of security to our products. All data is encrypted at rest and in transit and relevant perimeter monitoring, role segregation, patching processes and log reviews are in place to protect our customer data. Please get in touch if you would like more detailed information.

What type of reports will it produce?

Our data is stored in secure client instances that allow the individuals with the relevant permissions to use our MI dashboard to pull reports on the employees related to your business. This includes skill maps, user utilization, time spent on certain areas of the site.

Skill Satellite can also create bespoke reports where required on any of the data that is available within the system.

How long does it take to implement?

This can vary per client and depending on the level of service that is required. On our most lightweight implementations it is possible to turn the system around for your organisation in 2-4 weeks.

Where communications campaigns and specialist skills groupings are required this could take slightly longer.

Is it compatible with my HR system?

The Skill Satellite product has the ability to integrate with a huge number of HR/HCM systems in a bi-directional manner.

We are fully aware that API integration is not always the preferred method for security and privacy reasons, where this is the case we are able to securely transfer a variety of flat file formats to build your instance of Skill Satellite. Templates and additional information can be provided for file mapping.

What support do you provide to bring into my business?

Skill Satellite as a product is only part of our client journey. Our inhouse expertise has seen the team work across a variety of organisations with varying levels of employee engagement.

We are acutely aware of the need to ensure that employees are engaged with the product to ensure it adds the most value to your organisaiton. To support this we offer a range of services outside of our technical onboarding from communication planning, delivery and execution planning and management, engagement reviews, employee education and leadership coaching to help communicate the relevant encouragement to their teams.

What access levels are there?

Skill Satellite has a standard set of access levels available to clients:

  1. Administrator – This role is generally assigned to a small group of internal experts or technical product owners that are able to manage the data sets, user access levels, user accounts, audit logs and specific technical elements.
  2. HR Administrator – This role is generally assigned to HR staff that review engagement, run reports, search team skills for specific assignments, post roles/projects and feedback to managers on the level of engagement from their teams.
  3. Power User / Manager – Ability to update your own personal profile and your teams, search your organisational database for other user profiles and share projects and postings  (if required)
  4. End User – Ability to update your own personal profile and search your organisational database for other user profiles (if required)

Depending on your organisational requirements these roles can be tailored to access different areas of the system where required. For example if you have a multi division organisation that needs privacy controls in place between your divisions, this can be tailored into the access controls.

Can everyone see all data?

This is configurable and will form part of the onboarding of your organisation

Could we use this to store professional qualifications?

Yes. Profiles have configurable data blocks which allow clients to approve the addition of qualifications to employees profiles.

Do we provide the skills for our industry?

This is not a necessity, but is possible if you wish to capture a particular skill set. Additional skills can also be added subject to review by users themselves.

Skill Satellite have a team of analysts that build and manage skill relationships on a day to day basis. Ahead of your onboarding we will ensure our database is comprehensively updated with all skills relating to your industry. As a client you will also have access to all skills in our skills database across multiple industries.

Can we access it on our mobile devices?

Yes.

Skill Satellite renders on a mobile device browsers and developed with this in mind. We are currently in the process of developing a native mobile application for use by our clients.

Would you expect all levels of the business to complete a profile?

We find the most value if our leaders lead by example and complete their profiles as well. Typically the onboarding team would approach organisational leaders to complete their profiles first before rolling out to the wider organisation.

However, this is not a requirement and can be discussed further depending on your goals.
